Marcus went into the final round of the UK Arenacross needing a win to secure the series title. As if that wasn’t pressure enough, Marcus’s competitors came out firing and left him in 5th in qualifying. Some serious soul searching had to be done before the final.
Marcus came out the gate in about 5th. Going through turn one, there was a crash right in front of him that he just managed to avoid. This did move him to 3rd and had the big names right in his sight.
There was an epic battle between the top 3, with passing back and forth.
Back markers played a big role and would be the deciding factor as Marcus made a pass for the lead when the leader got caught behind a lapper. Marcus had to do some defensive riding from there, but held out for the last lap and a half for the win.
The race was certainly the best of the night and Marcus and family were ecstatic with the race win, series win and more importantly the achievement of his first European goal.
Marcus would like to thank P&H motorcycles, Thor, Raceworx KTM and Intertherm for making it all possible.
